Season 1 of Netflix's coming of age comedy series I Am Not Okay with This was picked up for a season order on 12 December 2018.[1] The first season airs on February 26th, 2020.
The series had been renewed after this season, but its renewal had not been announced.[2] Scripts were written, and it was fully on track to go into production.[3]
On August 21, 2020 it was announced that Netflix has opted not to proceed with a second season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3]
Synopsis[]
A coming of age story about a teenage girl navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all the while dealing with the complexities of her family, her budding sexuality, and... mysterious superpowers just beginning to awaken from deep within her.

Development[]
On December 12, 2018, it was announced that Netflix had given the production a series order for a seven-episode first season. The show is created by Jonathan Entwistle and Christy Hall who are also executive producers alongside Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry.
Filming[]
Filming commenced in Pittsburgh in June 2019. The town of Brownsville, Pennsylvania served as a primary location, while Wilmerding's Westinghouse Arts Academy Charter School was used as the high school exterior.
